Greenwich beach PEI National Park, and then steamers and oysters galore

Image
Another striking lighthouse. Interesting how similar they all are, unlike home. Great little restaurant near our new campsite I know its blurry but we saw 3 bald eagles in this spot got a pic of 2. we were getting ice cream at a little stand and the worker said a fisherman saw 21 here the other day!!! we then went to Greenwich beach PEI National park. we biked a few trails and then did the coolest floating boardwalk to a magnificent beach with big dunes Look at this floating boardwalk!!! This beach felt like Nantucket or the Cape! Our recent shell fish adventures Interesting that with all the local seafood around here its hard to find seafood markets and un prepackaged fresh fish in stores. We asked a local about it and she told us were to clam and about a seafood truck that comes weekly to Souris every Thursday! We were in luck. I called them and found I could preorder steamers and oysters, they would have fish... We were pumped.  We ordered 2 lbs of steamers and 2 dozen oy...

Prince Edward Islands East side explorations

The ferry to PEI First sight of the notable red sand. What a sweet campsite we found on a bay. We kayaked the next morning. It was glorious...until we had to come back against the tide and wind! lol check out the cool triple oyster shell attached to a snail shell. It looks like a propeller. I just love all the fishing ports with their shacks and boats and charm! Jerry is looking at tuna fins on the wall of the brown shack. Bluefin tuna is big here. Found a beach that is  like  the Cape! PEI is so different than Nova Scotia.( Except the fishing ports are similar) an empty beach!!! lol so many cool lighthouses!! The farm fields have me mesmerized They are so neatly furrowed its stunningly beautiful!!! I think dandelions must be their national flower, lol. We have never seen so many.  the farms are like one big patchwork quilt!! I feel like I'm driving through a painting. more about oysters and steamers tomorrow

I found the most beautiful rocks I've ever seen!!!  I just want to PAINT PAINT PAINT!!!!!!! moving down the trail the landscape changes so much. a decadent lunch!!!! The fog rolled in and gave a whole new look. The next day we drove to the northern tip of Cape Breton to Meat Cove and Bay St Lawrence. I want to live here!!!!! Bay St Lawrence is a really cool lobster port. we saw boats coming in and just had to buy another lobster because those of you who know me well know I'm obsessed!!! Jerry waiting for my lobster!!! off a lavender boat no less!! here it was coming in to port. last hike up a small hill for last views before we head to PEI tomorrow!
