Greenwich beach PEI National Park, and then steamers and oysters galore
Another striking lighthouse. Interesting how similar they all are, unlike home.
Great little restaurant near our new campsite
I know its blurry but we saw 3 bald eagles in this spot got a pic of 2. we were getting ice cream at a little stand and the worker said a fisherman saw 21 here the other day!!!
we then went to Greenwich beach PEI National park. we biked a few trails and then did the coolest floating boardwalk to a magnificent beach with big dunes
Look at this floating boardwalk!!!
This beach felt like Nantucket or the Cape!
Our recent shell fish adventures
Interesting that with all the local seafood around here its hard to find seafood markets and un prepackaged fresh fish in stores. We asked a local about it and she told us were to clam and about a seafood truck that comes weekly to Souris every Thursday! We were in luck. I called them and found I could preorder steamers and oysters, they would have fish... We were pumped. We ordered 2 lbs of steamers and 2 dozen oysters. We checked out the clamming spot the local told us about (but that was for bar clams what we call sea clams...the really big hard-shell clams for chowder, etc.)
We were excited for both the next day. went back to our campsight and realist it bordered a mudflat that looked like a clamming spot. Jerry walked down to try while I did the dishes. Literally before I finished he came back. I said "oh no luck?" he smiled and showed me this.
In just 10 minutes!!!
and I had just ordered 2 lbs for 16.00 lol
The next morning we met the truck. you lined up like a food pantry line and he took your orders.
he loved my steamer story and we didnt have to but them.
While we were waiting a fox ambled through town. we have actually seen a few here. a big bushy one strolled through our campsite last night.
That afternoon we took a bike ride along a rail trail on the water. It was so beautiful.
We started here. what a quintessentiall PEI shot
the path went over a few little bridges like above. on one we noticed a guy clocting oysters. we chatted with him for a bit and I jokingly said "You can throw us a few up if you want?) lol He said "If you can come down to the shore I will give you some." Jerry ran down to the rocks , offered to buy a dozen he said "No worries" and gave us a bag full!!!!
Click on link below to see mini video of oyster hand off!
When we got back to campsite we found he gave us 23 oysters. Canadians are the kindest ,most giving people I have ever met. Everyone goes out of their way to be kind!!
Jerry enjoying our first nights catch!
2nd days catch!! I am in seafood heaven!!!!!!!
View from this campsite
Next to our campsite across the bay. windmills and a plethora of cages in the water.
a farm next door with the cutest cows.

Wow! Your stories are bringing tears to my eyes about PEI/Canada and the people! So glad you got some great seafood up there.
